I've been recently informed by several people that it's not good at all to take a puppy from it's pack before 8 weeks old. Cry

I'm concerned now for Zip's Welfare due to my ignorance and the Breeder's choice to adopt her out so young. Embarassed

Can anyone identify her age by just looking at her pictures?
Is the Breeder being truthful with me?
If not why would the Breeder lie and for what purpose would the puppies be separated so young?

Can anyone point me in the direction I need to go to quickly learn about raising an Australian Cattle Dog and being aware of any problems?

Please, if you're not a registered user in this forum and you have experience that I can learn from, consider registering so that you can help me in my delima for Zip's sake.

Update on Zip now 12 weeks old….

Zip is doing exceptionally well as far as I can tell. She has learned quite a bit of doggy etiquette from my Dachshund. She loves her owner and is truly a velcro dog with him. She is very intelligent and very social. Zip has learned quite a few commands, obeys them well and is aware that biting is a no-no. She recently went on vacation and traveled from SC to NM and did excellent on the drive as well as minded her manners while in NM.
